You weren't very smart! The server won't be updating until Bukkit and most of the plugins are updated.

There are several legal client downgraders that you can use to revert to older versions of Minecraft. Save these links!

Correct, as long as the server hasn't updated and you have, you won't be able to get on.

If you did update it (like I stupidly did) all you have to do is download from the link I will post below and it will change the version of Minecraft to what you want, Found it on Minecraft forums and it is completely safe
